CR7 MISSES, MILAN DOWN TO 10 MEN

After three months of no football, the Bianconeri found themselves back on home soil, and against none other than long-time rivals AC Milan. Douglas Costa was the first to fire at goal, as his effort with just 69 seconds on the clock whisked just wide of the post. An action pack few minutes followed when Juventus were handed a penalty in the 15th minute following an Andrea Conti hand ball. Ronaldo stood up to take the spot-kick and he rattled it against the post, keeping the scoreline deadlocked. Seconds later, Danilo went down to ground and Milan were reduced to 10-men when Rebic was handed a straight red for a foul on the Brazilian. Juve were enjoying the majority of the possession and a great chance fell to Matuidi on the half hour mark when his volley from eight yards was parried away by Donnarumma, however, the scoreline remained deadlocked as the two teams went into the break.

IT REMAINS GOALLESS

The first chance after the break fell to the visitors when Calhanoglu got onto the end of Bonaventura’s shot and nodded it just wide of goal. Maurizio Sarri introduced three changes in the 63rd minute of play, introducing Khedira, Rabiot and Bernardeschi in place of Pjanic, Matuidi and Douglas Costa. The Rossoneri came back stronger, and they commanded more possession than they did in the first half. One of their best chances of the game came when Kjaer attempted to turn in Bennacer’s corner, only to see his glancing header flicker just wide of the goal. Dybala then tried his luck from range, forcing Donnarumma to push the ball out of play. Cuadrado had the final shot of the game, but nothing came of it as he fired high of goal. Despite the draw, Juventus progressed through to the final in Rome due to the away goal rule.
