THE HEART OF TEXAS

Dallas is the economic heart of Texas and the ninth most populated city in the United States, yet only the third in Texas after Houston and San Antonio. Skyscrapers dominate the skyline of one of the most popular stops for those who decide to travel the legendary American Coast to Coast. The signature building is the 72-storey skyscraper located in Bank of America Plaza. Another striking landmark is the 171-metre Reunion Tower, also known as The Ball due to the sphere that crowns this observation tower, which houses a revolving restaurant, a nightclub as well as an observation deck. Also worth visiting is the Old Red Courthouse, a historic building with its characteristic turrets. Built in 1892, it is one of the oldest buildings in the city.

In the heart of the city is the John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial, a cenotaph dedicated to the president assassinated on 22 November 1963 in nearby Dealy Plaza. Added to this is the Sixth Floor Museum, dedicated to President Kennedy's life, located at 411 Elm Street.

SPORT IN DALLAS

Dallas has played an influential role in sport Stateside. Five-time Super Bowl winners, Dallas Cowboys represent the city in the NFL. As for basketball, there are the Dallas Mavericks, one of the 30 teams in the NBA and winners in 2011. The ice hockey team Dallas Stars play in the NHL while the Texas Rangers are the local baseball team in the NLB. As for football played with the round ball, there is FC Dallas in the MLS.
