Juventus will play a highly prestigious pre-season friendly against West Ham on Sunday 7 August (14.00 CEST, 13.00 GMT), in what will represent the London club’s very first match at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Formerly the centrepiece of the 2012 Olympic Games, the 60,000-capacity stadium will become the new home of the Hammers, whose joint-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold expressed their delight at kicking off life in the arena against Massimiliano Allegri’s men.
Speaking to West Ham's official club website, they said: “It was always our intention to open the new stadium on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with a fixture fitting of the occasion, and the visit of the reigning Italian champions Juventus is most certainly that.”
