Leonardo Bonucci, who scored Juventus’ third goal against Napoli on Saturday to put the result beyond doubt, sought to shed some light on his side’s difficult start to the match. “It was important to win. We made technical errors at the start of the game because we wanted to play with the ball on the ground. We wanted to take the game to Napoli, knowing that we could really worry them,” he said. The defender added: “When you are Juventus, you either need to pass the ball or get rid of it depending on the situation. We made some mistakes towards the start of the match – I lost the ball playing it out from the back. We never gave up, though. That’s what you get from a great side.” When asked about his goal, he commented: “I dedicate my goal to my wife and my little girl, who’s on her way. I’m also happy with the applause from the crowd – I’d been waiting for that for a while, so I’m grateful to the fans for their understanding. I need to keep them on my side, but the crucial thing is what happens on the pitch.”
