Transforming the disappointment of Wednesday’s Champions League exit into ‘positive anger’ with which to push on in the league and Coppa Italia. That is what Massimiliano Allegri demanded from his men after last night’s proud display at the Bernabéu.
Having returned from Madrid during the night, the team regrouped on Thursday afternoon in Vinovo with a warm-down session in the gym for those players heavily involved last night and fitness drills for the rest of the group.
Mattia De Sciglio – substituted during the first half against Real Madrid – was absent from today’s workout. The defender reported a suspected tear of the plantar fascia tissue in his left foot, and his condition will be monitored further over the coming days.
Andrea Barzagli and Federico Bernardeschi trained with the rest of the team for a part of today’s session.
The Bianconeri are due back in Vinovo on Friday morning, as they step up preparations for Sunday’s Serie A match against Sampdoria at Allianz Stadium (18.00 CEST).
