TIGHT AT THE TOP
Juventus Women have picked up maximum points from the first 11 matches of their historic debut campaign. Now they look to do the same over the second half of the season, which starts tomorrow afternoon at home to Atalanta Mozzanica (kick-off at 15.45 CET).
Rita Guarino’s team know that they can’t let their foot off the gas with Brescia – who the Bianconere beat 4-0 away on Matchday 7 – joining them on 33 points at the top of the table.
Juventus Women do enjoy a better goal difference (+32 compared to Brescia’s +26) and a game in hand over their main title rivals, heading into Sunday’s fixture.
A LOOK AT ATALANTA
After losing 3-0 at home to Juventus Women on the opening day of the season, tomorrow’s opponents have picked up 17 points in their subsequent 10 matches to sit fifth in the Serie A standings.
The Bianconere know that they will need to be on their toes tomorrow, as Atalanta Mozzanica have fared far better on the road this term, collecting 13 of their 17 points while on their travels, including last weekend’s 3-1 win away to Fimauto Valpolicella.
Seventeen is also the number of goals scored by the Bergamasche this season (10 of which away from home). Their top scorer is forward Valeria Pirone (six) while midfielder Lisa Alborghetti has four goals to her name.
GALLI: "UP FOR THE CHALLENGE"
Speaking to Juventus TV yesterday, here is what Juventus Women midfielder, Aurora Galli, had to say ahead of Sunday's match:
"The game against Atalanta Mozzanica will be completely different to when we first played them. They have changed and now they know us better, they have offensive qualities, with experience in midfield. However, we will go into the match wanting to post another victory."
