Strikes from Paul Pogba, Roberto Pereyra and a Carlos Tevez brace saw Juventus rack up their 14th Serie A success of the season as they put Hellas Verona to the sword with a 4-0 victory in Turin on Sunday evening.
Pogba’s piledriver after only three minutes – his first Serie A goal of the campaign at Juventus Stadium – set the tone for an all-round dominating display from Massimiliano Allegri’s troops who were looking to open up a five-point gap over nearest challengers Roma at the start of play.
A second courtesy of Tevez’s right boot arrived shortly after as L’Apache kept up his incredible scoring run against Andrea Mandorlini’s men, signalling that he has now found the net in all three of his league appearances versus Verona.
Following waves of attacks on the Gialloblu goal, Pereyra latched on to Giorgio Chiellini’s through ball before finishing emphatically to make the points safe midway through the second half. It was the big defender’s first assist of the season.
With less than a quarter of an hour to go, Tevez’s second and Juventus’ fourth of the night put the icing on the cake as the Bianconeri registered their 22nd league triumph against the Gialloblu on home turf.
Here is a closer look at the main statistics from Sunday evening’s success:
