Juventus Women welcome another international talent to their ranks: Swedish striker, Lina Hurtig, born in 1995, will wear the number 17 on the back of her Juventus shirt this season.
Beginning her career with Avesta AIK, a club from the city of the same name, she made her big debut at the age of 15, in 2011, with Gustafs GoIF, in the Swedish third division, scoring 14 goals in 20 games, which helped fire her team to the Damallsvenskan title, the equivalent of Serie A in Sweden. She wore the yellow and black shirt until 2016, starting her adventure with Linkopings in 2017, with whom she again won the championship in the same year. Now with Juventus, begins her first adventure abroad.
Hurtig has also found success in the Sweden national team, in 2012, with Sweden's Under-19 team, at the age of 16, she won the European Championship in Turkey. The forward eventually went on to make her debut with the senior national team in November 2014, in a 1-1 draw against Canada. Together, with now teammate, Linda Sembrant, she was also part of the Sweden squad that finished in third place at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, scoring a goal against Thailand in the tournament. Her fourth goal with the national team, with the fifth coming against Slovakia last October.
With the desire and the spirit of sacrifice that has distinguished her throughout her career, we can't wait to discover her talent and see her take to the field with our shirt. Welcome, Lina!
