Fernando Llorente believes this evening’s goal will serve as an important personal confidence boost as the Bianconeri enter the business end of their 2014/15 campaign.
The striker has struggled to replicate the goalscoring touch that yielded 18 Serie A strikes last season but is confident better times lie ahead after netting his first of the calendar year in tonight’s 2-1 triumph over Atalanta at Juventus Stadium.
Speaking to the media after the final whistle, the 29-year-old said: “I was going through a bit of a hard time after not finding the target for a while. It’s something that makes you lose a little confidence, so this goal is important both for myself and the team.
“We didn’t make life easy for ourselves tonight. We needed to keep hold of the ball, move it around quicker and get them running.”
