Vinovo opened its gates to four very familiar faces, and one slightly newer one, this morning as the Bianconeri’s Italian national stars and new signing Marko Pjaca checked in for pre-season training for the first time this summer.
The Azzurri group - with exception to Leonardo Bonucci - returning to domestic duty after a strenuous European Championship campaign, took to the field with Croatian international Pjaca to begin their preliminary steps towards full fitness and the beginning of the new Serie A season.
Dani Alves, Gonzalo Higuain, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Mario Mandzukic in the meantime continued the foundation work that had begun at the end of last week while Claudio Marchisio trained alone as the midfielder follows his own individual path to recovery from injury.
Tomorrow will see the entire Juventus Jeep Tour travelling party – granted a couple of days rest to recover from Saturday’s journey home from Hong Kong- join those present today, such that Massimiliano Allegri and his staff can now step up pre-season plans in earnest with this weekend’s friendly with West Ham in London looming large on the horizon.
