A TOUGH START
October opens with a difficult trip to Atalanta's home at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia in Bergamo. Playing in the bright yellow and blue, Massimiliano Allegri's men take an early lead through Juve's number 33, Federico Bernardeschi:
Gonzalo Higuain doubles the lead three minutes later, however Atalanta comeback through Mattia Caldara and Bryan Cristante, as the match finishes all-square at 2-2.
Despite the slight setback, the game sees Giorgio Chiellini enter the record books as the 10th all-time Juventus appearance holder:
After the international break, Juventus face another difficult game at the Allianz Stadium against Lazio. Despite going ahead with a Douglas Costa goal, the Biancocelesti produced a great comeback thanks to a Ciro Immobile double to emerge victorious 1-2.
However, four days later in the Champions League, Juve host Sporting CP with the opportunity for redemption:
A fantastic free-kick from Miralem Pjanic on the half-hour mark and Mario Mandzukic's diving header towards the end saw Juve fightback from a goal down to win 2-1 and claim three vital points in Group D.
Six on the road
A tough and tight schedule sees Juve back at it just four days later after their win in the Champions League, as the squad travel to Friuli to take on Udinese.
A simply incredible match in Udine! With of course the main talking point being Sami Khedira's first-ever career hat-trick!
Away from the field, there were accolades to be had for our Numero Uno, Gianluigi Buffon:
The Bianconeri were back on the goal trail as they welcomed newly promoted SPAL to the Allianz. Bernardeschi, Paulo Dybala, Higuain and Juan Cuadrado were all on target in a 4-1 win.
super pipita
Three days later, La Vecchia Signora travelled to face AC Milan, with Higuain striking two goals to conquer the San Siro!
Following up that great result in Milan, the Bianconeri still had work to do in the Champions League, as they travelled to Lisbon to face Sporting:
Once more Higuain is decisive, snatching a goal towards the end of the match to earn Juve a vital 1-1 draw to keep the Bianconeri in second place in the group. The match also sees Mario Mandzukic make his 100th appearance in the Black and White:
With all those vital goals, it's no surprise to see Gonzalo Higuain voted MVP for the month of October:
Whilst Federico Bernardeschi's wonder-strike against SPAL was your October Goal of the Month:
And of course, there's nothing better to conclude the month of October with than to say, Happy Halloween!
