Martina Rosucci finally returned to the pitch with the Women's First Team on Saturday, in their friendly away against Olympique Lyonnais. The Bianconere midfielder had been out of action since picking up a serious injury on 26 February, 2023, and so she made her return 559 days later.
Here's how Martina reacted to her return:
"When I heard my name in the sentence 'you're coming on in the next 10 minutes', I felt something that I hadn't felt for a long time. I'm so happy to have returned to playing, even though it's a friendly, against a good-quality opponent. I finally feel like I'm ready to be able to help my teammates again, and now I can't wait for my competitive return and finally be able to say that this long comeback is finally 'done', then it'll be time for a new chapter."
