A narrow 0-1 away win in Verona thanks to an own goal: thus began Massimiliano Allegri's adventure on the Juventus bench in August 2014. Today, in our Cup quarter-final against Frosinone, our coach makes his landmark 400th appearance as coach of the Bianconeri, having headed a cycle of historic victories, memorable triumphs and exciting rides that brought us one step away from the European dream.
Our Coach has witnessed more than many under his watch, from the champions and veterans who dominated on and off the pitch, through to the young talents who blossomed and the bright stars who enchanted us (and continue to do so) with their goals and skills. A continuous cycle, an evolution that for seven and a half years brought victories, joys and constant growth.
Experience, hard work and even a pinch of madness: there would be too many adjectives to use to describe the Scudetti won in comebacks, those dominated from the first matchday, or the many blazers unbuttoned in anger during the final stages of the match in which there was a need to defend the advantage.
In fact, making a list of the championships and cups won would mean telling only part of a story that still has other chapters to discover, other pages to write as demonstrated by a season in which - as we too have learned - we need to think about moving forward one step at a time, game after game.
In this way you can get really far, even crossing the finish line of sitting on the Juventus bench 400 times - an objective achieved in the past only by Giovanni Trapattoni and Marcello Lippi.
Congratulations, Coach!
