Arturo Vidal came out of the dressing room grinning from cheek to cheek. And who could blame him? With his first-half header against Sampdoria, he repeated his feat from 2012/13 by netting the Scudetto-clinching goal for Juventus.
He beamed: "It had been a while since I scored in the league so I'm pleased with my goal, but what matters now is that we have a big game coming up on Tuesday."
El Guerrero is clearly itching to test his mettle on one of the biggest stages in the world. "I feel good and the team is playing with maturity. We'll be heading to the Bernabeu for the return leg, a stadium that gets me excited just thinking about it.
"I know Real Madrid are the best team in the world but we want to be in the final. It would be a dream to win the Champions League. We'll have time to celebrate at the end of the season."
So how can Juve overcome Los Blancos? "By keeping a clean sheet in Turin and maybe scoring too. Tomorrow we'll get down to work so that we're ready to give it our best effort."
