Mattia De Sciglio joins Empoli

Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio will play in Tuscany this season, signing for Serie A side Empoli.

Mattia is a player who has given so much to Juventus during his years in black and white, showing professionalism, dedication, and a great team spirit.

Since his arrival in Turin in 2017, De Sciglio has made over 100 appearances in our jersey, significantly contributing to the team’s successes, including winning three Scudetti, two Coppa Italia titles and a Supercoppa Italiana.

A highly experienced full-back, capable of playing on both flanks, Mattia has always prioritised the team’s needs, playing with consistency and determination every time he was called upon. Now, a new adventure awaits for him at Empoli.

• Mattia played 82 matches for Juventus in Serie A, making his Serie A debut in black and white on August 19, 2017, against Cagliari.
• In total, hemade 117 appearances for Juventus across all competitions, contributing two goals and four assists.
• Both of Mattia's two goals in Serie A came while wearing the Juventus jersey: the first on November 26, 2017, against Crotone, and the second on January 9, 2022, against Roma, where he scored the decisive goal to secure a 4-3 victory.
• All four of the 31-year-old's assists for Juventus resulted in headed goals by four different players (Mandzukic, Kulusevski, McKennie, and Vlahovic). Three of these assists were in Serie A, while one was in the Champions League (a crucial goal by Kulusevski against Zenit St. Petersburg on October 20, 2021).
