For those players training with their clubs during the international break, these are precious moments to work towards reaching a peak condition – a condition which Juventus, judging by the results obtained so far, has already largely achieved. The Bianconeri, however, are not the kind to rest on their laurels, as explained by Medhi Benatia to the Juventus TV cameras on Friday.
“We are working well, even if there’s only a few of us here at JTC, because we want to keep winning. What we’ve achieved so far this season is great and we are happy, but we have not won anything yet and so we must continue to dig deep. Is this the strongest Juve side since I joined? It's too early to say, but now we have a player like Cristiano Ronaldo who has written football history and this helps us a lot.
“I feel good physically,” continued the defender. “I'm playing a little less than last year, but I always try to be match ready and give my best. Everybody would like to play all the time of course and it’s a pity to miss a few games, but here at Juventus we have two teams of the same level, so you have to train hard and respond when you’re called into action.”
