Vincenzo Montella has challenged his men to maintain their strong run of form by claiming a major Coppa Italia scalp when they square up with the reigning champions of Italy for the first of two semi-final ties tomorrow night.
The Viola travel to Turin on the back of a 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions, made up of eight victories and four draws, and the Campania-born coach says he is relaxed ahead of the task that lies ahead.
Speaking to the media in Florence, Montella said: “We’ll try to win it, it’s everyone’s dream. We know we’re up against Italy’s best team, but we mustn’t have any fear. They will play with their best team and that needs to serve as an added motivation for us.
“Our mentality and courage have improved. What’s important is that my players don’t delude themselves and continue putting what they know into practice.”
On the opposition, he added: “Juventus are a team who know how to wait for the opposition more than they used to. They’re continuing to mature as a side. I don’t see much difference between Allegri and Conte, they both hold the same values.”
