UEFA Women’s Champions League Matchday 4 is upon us, with Juventus Women preparing for the away leg against group rivals Wolfsburg.
Ahead of the crunch clash in Germany, kicking off at the Wolfsburg Stadion at 18h45 on Thursday evening, coach Joe Montemurro and striker Barbara Bonansea faced the media to preview the European Cup clash.
This is what was said at the pre-match press conference:
Joe Montemurro
"Tomorrow will be different because we know each other better and we know the type of pressure there will be.
"Following our previous match against them, it'll be essential for us to shorten the distance between the departments on the field and give a good performance against one of the best teams in the world.
"It will be one of the most important matches for me, but these are the matches I work for. My formation choices? They will all be fundamental, regardless of who will be on the pitch from the start. All the players are important.
"We know Wolfburg's strengths. The girls have seen the level of their game and their pressure, and I think we will be even better prepared. The matches we will play away from home will tell us where we are, and that starts tomorrow night."
Barbara Bonansea
"It will be one of the most important matches we will play, also because of what we have done before. If we win, it will perhaps be the most important.
"I expect a match similar to that of the first leg, we are going to play without fear. We are continuously improving, also thanks to the growth of the Italian championship.
"We certainly have a different awareness now and we are going to play to win. We have also learned from our defeats.
"Juventus is my home. I am happy with the arrival of coach Joe Montemurro, with whom we are trying to make another leap forward. We are one of the best teams I have played for and we can grow even more."
