Ahead of Juve Women’s next match against Sassuolo, Joe Montemurro took time to laud the performance of what was a much-changed team in their midweek Coppa Italia fixture.

The Bianconere travelled to Chievo Verona and put six unanswered goals past the hosts to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

“We’re happy with the win against Chievo Verona and the response we had from those playing in the Coppa Italia,” the coach began “All of our players have always worked extremely hard in training, both consistently and intensely. You can see they’re a very close-knit group. Going back to Thursday evening’s match, I don’t think you could tell that those on the pitch have had less playing time this season compared to some of the other girls. You couldn’t see a difference and that’s a great sign. Before the trip to Verona, we had focused our training on attacking so scoring six goals is a great result in that sense.”

All eyes are now on the championship and the aim is to bag a fourth consecutive win when Juventus Women face Sassuolo on Sunday 15 October at 18:00 CEST.

Montemurro spoke on the eve of the match against the Emelians, drawing attention to the next fixture alongside other things.

SASSUOLO

“I think very highly of Sassuolo because they have some interesting gameplay ideas. We have to be on high alert tomorrow and try to manage all phases of the game. There will be times when our opponents will try and make it difficult for us, but we have to know how to best respond to their threats. We know that we’re in good form at the moment and we’ll try to use this to our advantage. We’ll also be playing at home, and this is bound to help us.”

POZZO-LA MARMORA SOLD OUT FOR SECOND TIME RUNNING

“It’s amazing to see so much enthusiasm in Biella. There was a great turnout against Sampdoria, and we know that the stadium will also be sold out for the match against Sassuolo. This is very positive news. Our fans are fantastic, and we’ll do everything we can to make sure they have a good time once again.”

LINE-UP

“We’ll make our assessments for this match keeping in mind the fact that it hasn’t even been 72 hours since our last game. We rotated the team for the game against Chievo Verona, taking into consideration the minutes played so far. For Sassuolo, we’ll try to put out the best starting 11 possible. In general, the girls are all fine and they’re keen to show what they can do. They make my job of picking the team difficult, but I like the challenge.”
