Montemurro: We must maintain our concentration

A challenging away match against Sassuolo on Sunday, 21 January sees a truly intense week for Juventus Women who, between the transfer market, personal milestones and victory in the Italian Cup, have had a busy few days.

Coach Montemurro, as always, took stock of the situation.

"It's been a pleasant week: we were able to do well in the Cup match, it was a useful opportunity to develop some game situations, and it ended positively with the result. The difference compared to the championship match against Sampdoria makes us think about how the mental approach is fundamental, both during the week and on match day, and not only that: it is the demonstration of how football is like this. There are no easy matches, I have seen the level rise a lot in Italy, we play a modern sport in which easy matches no longer exist. The secret is not to get too far ahead of yourself and always think only about the next match."

ARIANNA AND SOFIA

"Each week we like to receive good news and acknowledge important moments: this time Arianna Caruso has reached an incredible milestone and I congratulate her. It's is confirmation of how much she has grown; I am also very happy with Sofia Cantore's renewal, which in this period has really shown her value, which can allow her to reach very high levels. In general, I'm pleased to see how the group is growing: change, in football, is something that happens and must be addressed, and seeing that the team is mature and reacts in the right way is something that makes me very happy with the work we are doing. We are also creating the foundations for the coming years."

NEW ARRIVALS

"The new players are settling in well, on the pitch and beyond. It is logical that they are still discovering the environment, but they quickly understood Juve and its culture. I can't wait to see them in the game."

SASSUOLO TEST

"Sassuolo has always been a challenging team to face, they have a good coach and good players and know how to put their opponent in difficulty tactically; we must always maintain concentration, because for everyone, playing against Juventus is a final. We will also find Chiara Beccari, a player we know, who has grown a lot and is doing very well, in a club that believes in the development of players."
