Billed as the perfect opportunity to get over the disappointment of Wednesday’s Champions League elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich, the Bianconeri’s 4-1 win over Torino on Sunday allowed them to do just that.
Having scored two goals on the afternoon, Alvaro Morata was full of praise for his team’s performance and result, which sees Juventus tighten their grip on top spot in Serie A in their bid to secure a consecutive league and cup double this term.
“We’ve responded in the perfect manner by winning an important match,” the Spaniard said after the final whistle at the Stadio Olimpico. “This victory will give us a boost for the final part of the season.
“Obviously we’d have liked to progress in the Champions League too, but it’s now our responsibility to move on and claim the Scudetto and Coppa Italia. That’s our objective and we’re all fighting hard for one another in order to achieve that.”
