Match-winner Alvaro Morata says Juventus are looking to triumph in all three competitions they are currently involved in after his last-gasp goal ensured a 1-0 victory over Parma and a Coppa Italia semi-final spot this evening.
With the seconds ticking down to the final whistle, the 21-year-old gathered compatriot Fernando Llorente’s intricate through ball before sliding his shot under the onrushing Antonio Mirante to spark wild celebrations.
Speaking pitchside to RAI following tonight’s cup win, the young Spaniard began: “We knew it wouldn’t be an easy game for us. But we were able to get the victory and that’s all that mattered."
Normally seen as an alternative to Llorente in recent weeks, the two linked up well to send the Bianconeri into the semi-finals with extra-time looming. And Morata was adamant that he believes the Spanish connection could be used to great effect in future encounters.
“It’s a tactic we can use. We can play together and look to do our bit on a daily basis. It’s not about who plays - but the most important thing is the team winning.”
Tonight’s Coppa Italia success also means the Bianconeri’s dream of winning an unprecedented treble remains very much alive, with the frontman insisting it is a feat that can be achieved with the players at the club’s disposal.
He concluded: “We want to win every competition we’re involved in and I think we’ve got what it takes to do so.”
