04 July 2024
Paolo Montero has signed a contract that keeps him with Juventus for another two years, until 30th June 2026, and will also see him become the new coach of the Next Gen.
Therefore, after the first official match of the 2024/2025 season, the Uruguayan coach will become the first in Juventus’ history to have coached the Under 19s, Next Gen and the First Team. This is due to having spent two years in charge of the Juventus Primavera team and then just two matches with the First Team at the end of last season.
In the two years that Montero has been at the helm of the Bianconeri Primavera team, many players have shown promise at international level in the Youth League – during the 2022/2023 season – as well as at national level: certainly, two stand outs have been Yildiz and Huijsen. However, not only Kenan and Dean, because as previously mentioned Paolo’s main goal has been to contribute to the individual and collective development of the boys to prepare them for professional football and, in this sense, one of Montero’s tasks will always be to continue to support all the boys in his squad in their development journey.
COACH'S WORDS
“First of all, I would like to thank Juventus for putting their trust in me. It is an honour for me to continue coaching at this club and my primary objective will be to help my players continue their development. Enthusiasm, joy, passion and a sense of belonging will be our fundamental principles. The latter, the sense of belonging at this club, will be the most important value to pass on to the players, because it will be the difference maker on the pitch.”
Good work Coach!
