Juventus’ preparations for this weekend’s trip to Hellas Verona were played out in front of 300 fans at a sunny Vinovo on Friday.
After focusing first on fitness drills, the Bianconeri turned their attentions to technique and a friendly kick-around match before an intense session of target practice commenced, in which players collected crosses from the right (often struck by Massimiliano Allegri himself) before trying their luck from the edge of the box.
Sami Khedira was absent from today’s workout after medical exams revealed a first grade tear of the soleus muscle in his left calf. The German midfielder will be sidelined for the next two league matches and his availability for the Coppa Italia final will depend upon the results of further tests to be conducted over the coming days and weeks. Alvaro Morata, meanwhile, trained separately from the rest of the group as he continues to work towards full fitness.
The team will continue its preparations for Sunday evening’s encounter at the Stadio Bentegodi in Verona with a workout tomorrow afternoon after Allegri addresses the media at 12.00 CEST. The Tuscan tactician’s pre-match press conference can be followed via live tweets on the club’s official English language Twitter channel.
