Hellas Verona travel to Turin this weekend to take on Juventus at the Allianz Stadium, with kick-off set for 20:45 CEST on Saturday, 28 October.

The visiting side sit 16th in the Serie A standings with eight points from nine matches, the result of two wins and two draws, with six goals scored and eleven conceded.

VERONA'S NUMBERS

In Verona's last two league matches there were seven goals scored, after only two in total were scored in the previous four. The Venetians, fresh off two defeats, could lose three matches in a row for the first time in 2023 in Serie A.

Verona have lost their last two league games and neither under Marco Baroni nor under Marco Zaffaroni have they ever achieved three defeats in a row in Serie A; in fact it is since the management of Gabriele Cioffi-Salvatore Bocchetti that the Scaligeri have not fared worse (10 consecutive defeats, divided between the two coaches).

Since May 2022, Verona has failed to score more than one away goal in Serie A (3-3 against Lazio in that case); since then 14 goals in 24 away matches have been scored for the Scaligeri - the only team with a worse record of away games with a maximum of one goal scored in Serie A  is Lecco (33).

PLAYER STATS

With the goal against Napoli in their most recent match, Darko Lazovic became only one of two players to score in five consecutive seasons in Verona's history in Serie A, after Antonio Di Gennaro (six, between 1982/83 and 1987/88). Lazovic has never scored in two games in a row in Serie A, but the last time he scored he then provided an assist in the following game (a goal against Atalanta in May, an assist against Milan in June).

The only Serie A match in which Milan Djuric managed to both score and provide an assist was against Juventus: a 2-2 draw with Cesena on 15 February 2015, at the Dino Manuzzi. In addition to being the player who has participated in the most aerial duels this season (60), Djuric is also the one who has won the most (40, at least 10 more than any other player). Furthermore, among attackers with more than 30 aerial duels in the top five European leagues, only Florian Sotoca (73%) boasts a higher success rate than the Gialloblù (67%).

Giangiacomo Magnani has intercepted 16 balls in this championship, fewer only than Norbert Gyömbér (17), Danilo and Giorgio Scalvini (18) – the yellow-blue defender is also first among his teammates in terms of number of balls recovered (64).

Filippo Terracciano has attempted 21 crosses so far, among the midfielders in the current Serie A campaign only Nández (33) and Candreva (36) have more. However, the Gialloblù player is joint first with Teun Koopmeiners for successful crosses from open play (seven). Terracciano is first among Verona players both for tackles (18) and tackles won (12).

Michael Folorunsho is the player who has engaged in the most duels in Serie A: 130, of which 59 have been won, fewer only than Adrien Rabiot (66) and Morten Frendrup (64); furthermore, Folorunsho has suffered 24 fouls, more than anyone else in the 2023/24 Serie A season.

After scoring a goal on the second and another on the third matchday of the season, Cyril Ngonge was left without goals in the next six; since he played for Verona (January 2023) he has only once made six appearances in a row without scoring in Serie A, between February and April, and has never reached seven.

Lorenzo Monitpò has made 31 saves in this championship, fewer only than Michele Di Gregorio (33) and Stefano Turati (36); among the goalkeepers present in all matches of the 2023/24 Serie A, only Yann Sommer (79%) and Lukasz Skorupski (77%) maintained a better save percentage than the yellow-blue goalkeeper (74%).

Juventus could become the first team Josh Doig faces three times in Serie A; so far he has lost both matches played against the Bianconeri in the top league.

Federico Bonazzoli, scorer of a goal as a substitute against Empoli this season, is one of only six players to have scored at least one goal off the bench in each of the last four Serie A seasons (six in total per match in progress In the period).
