Opposition Focus | Ten things to know about Empoli

Empoli are the Bianconeri's opponents this weekend, the struggling Tuscan outfit lining up at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday looking to improve their dismal record against the Bianconeri.

The Azzurri have won just one of their 14 previous encounters played in Turin, and currently occupy 19th spot on the Serie A table, and have won just one of their last five matches.

Ahead of Saturday evening's 18:00 CET kick-off, here's ten things to know about our opposition.

1. Empoli have won only one of the 14 away games played at Juventus in Serie A: 0-1 in August 2021, with a goal from Leonardo Mancuso.
2. The Azzurri have collected just 16 points in this Serie A and have never done worse after the first 21 matches played in a single top-flight season: 16 points also in 2003/04 and 2007/08, with the Tuscans nevertheless avoiding the defeat on both occasions in the 22nd match of the season.
3. Empoli have not won any of the last 14 matches played against a team that occupied first position in the table at the start of the Serie A championship round: 13 defeats (including the 11 most recent in chronological order), of which seven were against Juventus.
