Juventus Football Club can today confirm that Roberto Pereyra has joined Premier League side Watford for an initial fee of €13 million, to be paid over the course of four financial years.

A further €2 million could be paid to Juventus should certain conditions stipulated in the agreement be achieved.

Upon arriving from Udinese in the summer of 2014, Pereyra quickly caught the eye with a series of highly accomplished performances in his favoured ‘trequartista’ position.

Neat and tidy in possession, the Argentine boasts the perfect mix of creativity, guile and unselfishness, providing an impressive 68 opportunities for his team-mates in 48 appearances, the third-highest for the Bianconeri over the course of the last two seasons behind only Paul Pogba (91) and Claudio Marchisio (71).

Technically gifted and blessed with two good feet, Pereyra’s ability to bamboozle an opposition backline with his mazy runs became an iconic aspect of the affectionately nicknamed El Tucu’s game. Indeed, he completed the third most dribbles (76) for Juventus in the past two campaigns, with only Pogba and Paulo Dybala managing more.

Of his six goals in Bianconeri colours, this pearler against Hellas Verona in the club’s victorious 2014/15 Coppa Italia campaign stands out as the most sumptuous – a simply stunning nutmeg and chip, all while on the sprint:

Pereyra played his part in one of Juventus’ most successful two-year periods ever, in which he lifted a pair of Scudetto titles, the same number of Coppa crowns and an Italian Super Cup.

Everyone at Juventus Football Club extends their thanks to Roberto and wishes him the very best for the future.

Suerte, Tucu.
