Miralem Pjanic says he revelled in the opportunity to pull the strings from the heart of the Bianconeri midfield in tonight’s 2-2 friendly draw with Espanyol at Modena’s Stadio Alberto Braglia.
Following a decent run out against West Ham on Sunday, the Bosnian midfielder was once again given the freedom to express himself in the middle of the park, seizing the chance with both hands during an impressive display for the reigning champions.
Speaking to the media in Modena, Pjanic said: “I enjoyed playing in that position, from there I can dictate the play. It’s a shame we didn’t win tonight, we barely gave them an inch and conceded two avoidable goals, but it was a good test before we begin Serie A.
“From a fitness point of view we’re getting close to peak form and we showed positive signs against a team that keeps things tight. Having said that, there’s definitely room for improvement.”
