It was his brilliant first-time ball onto the chest of Paulo Dybala that led to Juve's second of the night against Cagliari and effectively killed the game off at 2-0.
Miralem Pjanic talked us through the move after the final whistle: “I could see Paulo in space and I hoped [Juan] Cuadrado would pass to me because I already knew what I wanted to do with it.”
But the Bosnia international is more than just a pass-master and his full repertoire was on display at Allianz Stadium as he pulled the strings from midfield, intelligently distributing balls and winning them back.
After the game, he declared himself happy with Juve's performance on the night but knows the team still have a lot of growing to do.
“We're not at our best yet but that's normal. We'll slowly get back into our stride,” the 27-year-old said.
“We played a good game today though and looked solid from the first minute to the last. We closed down the space well and could have scored a few more if our finishing had just been a touch better.
“It was important for us to keep a clean sheet as well after conceding a few too many in pre-season. We put in a good defensive shift today and of course Gigi [Buffon] gave us a hand with that penalty...”
