Coach Thiago Motta, Dusan Vlahovic, Juan Cabal and Nicolo Savona spoke to the press after the 3-0 victory against Hellas Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium.
THIAGO MOTTA
"Pressing the opponent naturally comes with risks because you have to open up, but if you do it right, you can win the ball back when the opponent is exposed, giving you the advantage of finishing the action quickly. Congratulations to all the guys—Dusan scored, but credit goes to everyone because they pressed well and we got the goal.
"These are strong players with great talent and quality. We help them step onto the field in the best conditions to express their abilities, but they are high-level players who, when they play together like this, show the difference they can make.
"Attitude is very important, as is reading the game. At the beginning of the match, the opponent was waiting for us, looking to capitalize on our mistakes with quick counterattacks. But when they came to press us, we went deep, and we have plenty of players who can do that. This approach is great to see. And you can see it with our fans: today, there were 3,500 people singing from the first to the last minute for us. These players are definitely conveying the desire to do well."
DUSAN VLAHOVIC
"I'm happy for Nicolò for his goal, for the team, and for the fans after tonight's win. In the first match, I didn't score—I was a bit unlucky—but today, two goals came, and I'm very pleased with how we approached the game. The result is a consequence of our hard work. We work a lot with the coach on attitude and aggression. Everything stems from that—if you have the right mindset, everything else falls into place: playing as a team, supporting each other, and then following the tactical instructions we know so well."
JUAN CABAL
"The trust the coach has in us is essential for adapting here at Juve. He gives confidence to everyone: those with experience, the younger players, and newcomers like me. I'm happy; this match was very important to me, especially against the team that brought me to Europe. We all run on the pitch, sacrificing for our teammates—we're a family."
NICOLO SAVONA
"I'm very happy to have scored my first Serie A goal. Dusan told me he didn't touch it, so I guess he left it for me. It's a dream, and I hope we can keep going like this."
