«We had chances aplenty, but Fiorentina could’ve found the equaliser. At times our defending was sloppy. That being said we played well and fought hard, I’m happy with how the lads performed. Right now it’s hard to set specific objectives but we’re just aiming to bounce back and then think about the Europa League. Fiorentina were dangerous up front and in general they played well. We need to adapt to our current situation. We’re one point off seventh place, potentially second in the league, but what’s important is to set short-term goals and achieve them. That way we’ll improve and be inspired to go further. Our fans are a great help and give us a needed boost. However there’s no need for them to boo the lads, it’s disrespectful»
ADRIEN RABIOT
«We played well tonight, just as we did in Salerno. When we were under the cosh we defended and attacked as a unit. We’ve got players back to fitness now and we’ve discussed how we want to get out of this situation. Our team spirt is there for all to see. We’re keen to do well in the Coppa Italia and the Europa League»
WOJCIECH SZCZESNY
«I think the outcome of the match was easy to understand. Gaetano Castrovilli is a top attacker. Fiorentina fielded two forwards but we dug deep and showed great team spirit to resist them, ultimately picking up the three points. We’ll enjoy this victory. Our focus is just on what we can do on the pitch – nobody can take that away from us. As for the Europa League, we’re chomping at the bit and eager to bring the trophy home»
