Preview: Sassuolo vs Juventus Women

The 2024/25 Serie A season begins away at Sassuolo for Juventus Women. After a summer that has seen a lot of changes and a successful pre-season, the Bianconere will want to start on the right foot away in Emilia-Romagna.

• Sassuolo and Juventus have met 16 times in Serie A, with the Bianconere winning 13 of those and the Neroverdi managing just one triumph.
• Sassuolo are, along with Fiorentina, the team against whom Juventus have won the most matches in Serie A - 13. 
• Juventus have scored more goals - 41 - against Sassuolo than against anybody else (also 41 goals scored against AC Milan).
• Juventus have scored in each of their 16 Serie A matches against Sassuolo.

• Juventus (55.1%) and Sassuolo (52.8%) were two of the three sides with the highest shot accuracy in Serie A last season (as well as Inter, 53.2%).

• Arianna Caruso, along with Manuela Giugliano, is one of two midfielders to have scored and assisted at least five times in 2023/24, with Caru boasting seven goals and six assists.

Opposition Focus

• Sassuolo have opened their last two seasons with a loss, both 2-1, against Sampdoria and Fiorentina, respectively. They had previously gone unbeaten in four of five opening-day fixtures. 
• Among Italy's top-flight sides, only Roma (28) are on a longer run than Sassuolo of homes games without a draw. The Neroverdi have chained together 12 games at home since last drawing with Pomigliano on 1 October, 2023. Since, they've won five and lost seven, with two of those defeats coming against Juventus.
• Sassuolo ended last season's Poule Scudetto with four losses from seven (winning two and drawing the other), conceding an average of three goals per game in that run.
