Giovanni "L'Avvocato" Agnelli passed away exactly 14 years ago today, but his spirit lives on in all those who share his love for the Bianconeri.
As well as being president at the club for six years between 1947 and 1953, L’Avvocato was an extremely committed supporter of the Old Lady and he would often be seen in the stands cheering on his beloved boyhood team.
Even if Agnelli is no longer able to visit the ground in person, his appreciation of and demands for a beautiful brand of winning football has left an important legacy, which remains in full flow to this day.
Sunday's victory - achieved with passion, style and verve - at Juventus Stadium would surely have been one to bring a smile to the face of Giovanni and another tomorrow against Milan would be the best possible way of honouring his memory.
Football was in his heart, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those whose passion is black and white.
“Whether it’s the best team or whether it’s Juventus that wins, I’m lucky that the two often coincide.”
Grazie, Giovanni.
