Empoli boss Maurizio Sarri is calling on his team to throw off the shackles when they run out at Juventus Stadium tomorrow night.
Many sides are happy to sit back and soak up the pressure when facing the reigning champions in Turin, but the Azzurri manager, whose outfit are on an eight-match unbeaten run, says he will be encouraging his men to buck the trend by playing the Bianconeri at their own game.
Speaking to the media ahead of his team’s departure from Tuscany, the 56-year-old said: “Our intention is to go to Turin and dictate the play. I’m aware it won’t be easy by any stretch of the imagination, but that’s the way it has to be, otherwise we’ll be in for a tough evening.
“It’s not easy to get going again after the break, but there’ll be no geeing up required when you’ve got this kind of game ahead. We can’t allow ourselves to be overawed by the opposition or the stadium. Our task will be to aim for an approach that very few teams have gone for away at Juventus, playing an open game."
