BIG GAME, BUT MANY MORE AFTER
“Barcelona have already won twice in Group D and are in a strong position, while we and Juventus are tied on three points apiece. I wouldn’t want to rule out Olympiacos’ chances yet either.
“Of course, we’ll be looking to gain a positive result from tomorrow’s match, but I don’t think it’s fundamental in terms of qualifying for the knockout rounds, either for us or Juventus. There are still three group games left after this.”
BELIEF AGAINST THE BIANCONERI
“Juventus have reached the Champions League final in two of the last three seasons, so they’ve plenty of pedigree in this competition, but we won’t let that dampen our moral heading into this match. We still want to play as well as we possibly can and get a result.
“I would like to be able to have the same feelings tomorrow as when I won here as manager of Benfica (in the 2014 Europa League semi-final) and I believe that’s possible even if, just like back then, we are about to take on a very strong Juventus team.”
SQUAD NEWS
“Fabio Coentrao and Seydou Doumbia are both fit and included in my 24-man squad. Before that, however, we’ve a training session. If nothing strange happens during that session, they’ll be ready for tomorrow’s match.”
CRISTIANO PICCINI
KEEPING OUR DREAM ALIVE
“I believe that this is a very important match to be able to keep up our dream of reaching the Champions League knockout rounds. Tomorrow night, we’ll be giving everything we’ve got in order to bring home a positive result.”
NO DOUBTING JUVE THREAT
“In terms of stopping Juventus’ players tomorrow night, we have to implement well what we’ve been doing in the training sessions. The Bianconeri may have just one point to show from their last two games, but we should not let that deceive us. We know full well that we’re still coming up against a top team.”
