Juventus Women return to Serie A action after the international break with a game of huge importance at the top of the table as Roma visit Biella on Matchday 6. The significance of Sunday’s game, which kicks off at 12:30 CET, is easily understood when you consider that it sees the two teams who still boast 100% records facing off.
Having gone toe to toe in Serie A last season, and in the last two Italian Cup finals, Roma and Juventus are set to meet for the first time this season.
Ahead of the game, we’ve looked back at some of the most interesting facts around the fixture.
POSITION OF STRENGTH | Juventus are unbeaten in 15 of the 17 games they’ve had against Roma in all competitions, losing just twice.
HOME ADVANTAGE | Juventus have won four of their five home games against Roma in Serie A, racking up an aggregate score of 12-4 from those fixtures. The only game to break that run was a 1-1 draw in March 2022.
KEEPING THINGS TIGHT | Since the beginning of last season, Roma (14) and Juventus (11) are the sides with the most clean sheets kept in Serie A. However, along with Florentia, the Bianconere are the only side against whom Roma have never kept a clean sheet.
BRILLIANT BEERENSTEYN | Last time out against Fiorentina, Lineth Beerensteyn became Juventus’ highest-scoring foreign player in Serie A. She has history against Roma too, scoring the second of her four Bianconere braces in a 3-2 win in the capital in December 2022.
ETERNAL THREAT | Nobody has scored more goals against Roma than Cristiana Girelli (eight) between Serie A, the Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup.
