Recognising the forms of stereotypes and prejudices by their name. This, for over a year, has been the goal of the podcast "Sulla Razza", created and promoted by Juventus, which is in the running to be awarded at "IlPod", the first Italian Podcast Awards, which will take place on 30th April in Milan.
The categories in which this podcast has been shortlisted for are "Best Podcast Diversity" and "Best Dissemination Podcast".
Sulla Razza - powered by Juventus, was created to translate and introduce concepts and expressions coming from Anglo-American culture, but which often apply to the Italian reality, through an updated language and a format in which these terms are analysed, contextualised and explained by the three authors: Nadeesha Uyangoda, freelance author, Nathasha Fernando, professor of media and sociology at the University of Westminster (UK), and Maria Mancuso, editor and co-speaker of S/Confini.
12 words in 12 half-hour episodes: each episode introduces and explains a word, to give a name to the various faces of racism and discrimination.
In addition to the category awards, there is the “Podcast of the Year Award”, chosen from amongst the winners of the individual categories, with all of the nominated podcasts automatically participating in the online voting to choose the winner.
“Sulla Razza” is available to listen to here (in Italian only), whilst you can vote for it here.
