The Flash stays hot
Douglas Costa took his form from Sunday’s stunning three-assist match into Wednesday night providing the pin-point cross on Alex Sandro’s 16th-minute goal. It’s the third consecutive Serie A match with a goal or assist for Douglas Costa who has four goals and eleven assists in 40 matches in all competitions.
Crotone battle back
After the early concession, the home side battled back as you’d expect from a team that is scrapping for every point near the bottom of the table. The Pythagoreans were stout defensively on the night and found a brilliant equalizer through Simy’s overhead kick.
Cordaz saves Crotone
Looking to regain the lead after Crotone’s equalizer, Juventus created two fantastic chances just minutes apart. Blaise Matuidi let fly an incredible effort from 25 yards out that Cordaz somehow tipped over the bar while two minutes later the Italian denied Higuain from close range with another save that would prove absolutely vital.
Serie A tightens
The Bianconeri draw coupled with Napoli’s 4-2 win over Udinese means the Juventus lead at the top of Serie A tightens to four points ahead of Sunday night’s all-important encounter against the Partenopei at Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.
Bernardeschi returns
Certainly a positive to take from Wednesday night is the return of Federico Bernardeschi to the field exactly two months to the day after he was injured away to Torino. Bernardeschi replaced Paulo Dybala late in Wednesdays match.
