Carlos Tevez says he is disappointed at the way the Bianconeri performed during the last 20 minutes of tonight’s encounter with Roma, during which the hosts cancelled out his stunning free-kick that shot the league leaders in front.
The Argentine says the team should have maintained a stronger grip on the game and seen out the win, especially considering their numerical advantage due to Vasilis Torosidis’ sending off midway through the second half.
Speaking to the media in the capital, Tevez began: “We played well for 70 minutes, but we mustn’t gift our opponents the last 20 minutes in the manner we did. I’m very angry.
“We put in a decent performance and I liked the character we showed, but after their goal, with numerical supremacy, we can’t allow ourselves to give so much away to the opposition.”
Tevez concluded by paying tribute to usual set-piece taker Andrea Pirlo, revealing he studies his team-mate’s free-kick technique closely during training sessions in Vinovo.
“I train alongside Pirlo every day and try to copy the things he does. He’s still got priority on the free-kicks!”
