Tonight’s goalscorer Carlos Tevez says the Bianconeri will need to keep working hard if they want to wrap up the title in the next few weeks.
After returning to his club commitments on Thursday following plenty of travel over the international break, the Argentine showed no signs of jet lag as he inspired the Bianconeri to victory with another all-action display.
His goal, a shot he says he “had to aim high because there were loads of bodies in the box” set the ball rolling for another three points, before Roberto Pereyra wrapped things up in the closing stages.
And with Roma keeping the heat on following this afternoon’s 1-0 triumph over Napoli, Tevez believes hard graft is the only way to get over the line as champions.
He added: “Before tonight’s game Roma showed they were still alive and kicking. We mustn’t ease off and need to keep working until we’re mathematically confirmed as champions.”
