Sofie Junge Pedersen has spent five extraordinary years in black and white.
Five fantastic and unrepeatable years, five years filled with success and very few disappointments which, in any case, served as a further step in her incredible growth.
From next season, Sofie will no longer don the Juventus Women shirt, a kit that she has worn with passion and a sense of belonging since the first day she arrived in Turin, on 27 December 2018.
From that day on, a special relationship was born with our iconic black and white colours, resulting in a host of memorable moments and countless victories. The numbers speak for themselves: since becoming Bianconera, Sofie has won at least one trophy in every season since her debut 2018/2019 campaign, and this year she will try to add to that impressive run in the season-ending Italian Cup final against Roma in Salerno.
With nine trophies in total to her name, Pedersen will forever remain part of Juve’s history. That goal scored at the Allianz Stadium against Fiorentina, the first ever, will remain indelible in the memory of us all. An iconic goal, not only because it secured the Scudetto, but also and above all, for its symbolic value. It was, in fact, the first goal scored at home by Juventus Women – at the Allianz Stadium, which over the following seasons has played host to many European matches for the Bianconere in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
That goal, however, is only one of the many memorable moments in which her contribution to Juventus Women was fundamental. Not only her goals, but more often than not, her less-high profile but integral work in midfield, away from the spotlight. Sofie has played 117 games in all competitions in black and white, and currently sits ninth on the list of players with the most appearances for Juventus.
These are special numbers, earned by a special player and, above all, a very special woman.
And the season, as already mentioned, is not over yet.
In the meantime, we thank you and wish you all the best for the future!
Tak, Sofie!
