The Allievi and Giovanissimi Nazionali academy sides both endured a difficult Sunday, falling victim to local rivals Torino and Genoa respectively.
After emerging victorious in this season’s first encounter with the club’s inter-city rivals, Felice Tufano’s side saw their Derby della Mole counterparts claim their share of the bragging rights with a 2-1 win.
The result sees Torino stretch their lead at the top to nine points with two games remaining of the regular campaign, extinguishing any Juventus hopes of leapfrogging them ahead of this season’s finals.
Meanwhile, over in Liguria, an opportunity to climb back on top came and went for the Giovanissimi Nazionali, whose 3-1 defeat saw league leaders Genoa extend their lead at the championship’s summit to five points.
With two matches to go and top spot still mathematically up for grabs, Claudio Gabetta’s Bianconeri will be looking to bounce back at the first time of asking, with Sampdoria providing the opposition next weekend on home soil.
