07 September 2024
After PSV Eindhoven, RB Leipzig, Stuttgart and Lille, Juventus’ Champions League journey will continue away from home, specifically in Birmingham and at Villa Park - the home of Aston Villa.
Not many of you will remember, but this isn’t the first time that Juventus and Villa will face one another. They met back in the 1982/83 as well, with the Bianconeri winning 2-1 away and 3-1 at home.
ASTON VILLA'S HISTORY
It’s hard to find a country whose clubs are more soaked in history than England, and Aston Villa are no exception to that. Founded in 1875, the Villains were one of the founding members of the Football League in 1888, and of the Premier League in 1992.
Based in Birmingham, they play their home games at Villa Park, a 42,785-seater stadium, and they have 23 trophies on show there - seven league titles, seven FA Cups, five League Cups, a European Cup, and a UEFA Super Cup.
An undeniably historic club, Villa are ready to do battle again at Europe’s top table.
ASTON VILLA THIS SEASON
The Villans have had a mixed start to the 2024/25 season. After 12 matches, they sit eighth on the Premier League table, with just five wins to their name, yet enjoyed a stellar start to their Champions League campaign, winning their fist three games against Young Boys, Bayern Munich and Bologna.
Unai Emery’s men have however struggled of late, losing their last UCL match to Club Brugge, and are currently on a six-match winless run, having drawn their last league match against Crystal Palace 2-2.
See you all on Wednesday, 27 November at Villa Park in Birmingham!
