Now, let's find out more about our opponents.
The history
Eintracht Frankfurt as we now know it has been around since 2020, when there was a merger with 1. FFC Frankfurt, the most decorated club in German women's football with seven German titles, nine German Cups and four Women's Champions Leagues to their name - the last coming in 2014/15.
In the last two seasons, Eintracht have finished third behind superpowers Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, the latter being an old acquaintance of the Bianconere. Last season, Eintracht's European adventure was ended in the Round 1 final, then against Ajax.
The first match
Eintracht beat Slovacko 1-0 courtesy of Lara Prasnikar's 24th-minute strike, but the hosts dominated the game. They set up in a 4-3-3 formation.
Eintrach XI vs Slovacko (4-3-3): Johannes; Wolter, Kleinherne, Kirchberger, Hanshaw; Reuteler, Pawollek, Dunst; Anyomi, Prasnikar, Freigang.
Eintracht's 2022/23 season
As mentioned above, Eintracht finished third last season, behind Bayern and Wolfsburg. Bayern hit 59 points in 22 games, with Wolfsburg getting 57. Eintracht weren't too far behind on 54.
Prasnikar, again mentioned above, was their top scorer in the league with 14 goals, and only Alexandra Popp scored more than her.
