Aerial threat
Three of the last five goals conceded by Juventus have been headers. They will have to be alert to prevent history from repeating itself tonight, with Sassuolo’s most recent two Serie A efforts stemming from aerial situations.
Zaza eyes three in a row
The 23-year-old forward, previously co-owned by the Bianconeri but now on a permanent contract in Emilia-Romagna, struck a goal apiece in 2013 and 2014, making Juventus his second favourite Serie A victims behind Cagliari.
Tevez time?
Whilst Zaza has enjoyed a purple patch against the Old Lady, Carlos Tevez appears to have a soft spot for bulging the Sassuolo net. He hit a hat-trick in the first ever top flight meeting between the sides back in December 2013 and continued his goalscoring exploits at the Mapei Stadium last April, setting Juventus on their way to a 3-1 comeback triumph.
Arresting the slide
Sassuolo have lost three Serie A fixtures in a row, conceding two or more goals in each of these games. However, they have yet to register back-to-back away defeats this year, and will be looking to protect that record when they travel to Juventus Stadium tonight.
Clean sheet woes
The Neroverdi are this season’s Serie A outfit to have gone the longest without keeping a clean sheet. Their last defensive shutout came during a 1-0 away win over Torino in November 2014.
Quick starters
With 10 goals scored in the opening 15 minutes of this season’s Serie A fixtures, Juventus are the division’s most lethal team at bursting out of the blocks.
