Juventus Women registered a 3-1 success over Cittadella in the Coppa Italia to kick off 2023 in style thanks to goals by Annahita Zamanian, Agnese Bonfantini and Cristiana Girelli. Boss Joe Montemurro gave his view on the encounter and the importance of the upcoming period for the Bianconere. With the break behind the team, it is now time to get back into the swing of things with some major targets on the horizon.
MONTEMURRO: “IT WAS KEY TO RESUME WITH A WIN”
“I’d like to give Cittadella credit,” stated the boss. “They’re well drilled and played their game to the best of their ability. We always have a few minor difficulties after a break, but we managed to play our football at a good tempo. We made some changes and managed to keep the ball well.
“Over the coming weeks, I also want to get to see more of some of our young players. There will be some changes against Brescia. This week will be very useful in terms of embedding new ideas. Of course, it’ll be important to seal our place in the next round. I’d also like to congratulate Cittadella on the atmosphere here which was fantastic at a brilliant stadium.”
