In Europe's top-five leagues, no midfielder has scored more goals than Arianna Caruso's five. She is level with Aitana Bonmatí, Jill Roord, Lindsey Horan e Gaëtane Thiney. In just nine appearances, Caru has equalled her scoring tally from last season (five goals in 25 appearances), and she hasn't scored more since hitting eight in 19 games in 2021/22.
Arianna Caruso is enjoying an extraordinary start to the 2023/24 Serie A season, so much so that no midfielder in Europe is shining brighter than the Juventus Women no.21. Even playing in a new role, Caru is impressing like nobody else.
Beyond being decisive with Juventus, Arianna has also proven key for the Italian national team, finding herself on the scoresheet with the Azzurre and being a real leader in the squad, seen again as she netted their third - on a Sofia Cantore assist - in the recent 3-0 Women's Nations League win over Switzerland in Parma.
Numbers speak, and Caru's performances scream.
It would be wrong to talk about this as a temporary run of form though, because it's much more than that - it is pure talent that is shining bright.
