The Qatar 2022 World Cup continues for the Bianconeri, with the adventure coming to a close for for Danilo, Bremer and Alex Sandro, whilst continues for Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria reach the semi-finals.
CROATIA - BRAZIL
The World Cup ends on penalties for Brazil, who had previously trained at Juventus' Continassa complex, before leaving for Qatar. After finishing 0-0 in normal time, Tite's team took the lead at the end of the first half of extra-time with Neymar's goal on a splendid move in the 106th minute from an assist by Paquetà.
In the second half of extra-time, just as Brazil struck before the end of the first, Bruno Petkovic equalised in the 117th minute to send the game to penalties. Rodrygo and Marquinhos made the mistakes from the spot, as Croatia triumphed 4-2 to reach the semi-finals.
THE BIANCONERI IN DETAIL: Bremer was unused substitute, whilst Alex Sandro came on in extra-time in the 106th minute, with Danilo playing the entire game, making 77 total passes.
THE NETHERLANDS - ARGENTINA
Another exciting match, the one between the Netherlands of former Juventus defender, Matthijs de Ligt (a unused substitute) and Argentina. As anticipated Lionel Messi was a big protagonist of the game, creating a sensational assist for Nahuel Molina's goal in the 35th minute of the first half and then converting the penalty kick that seemed decisive in the 73rd minute. However, the Oranje staged an incredible fight back with Wort Weghorst heading in from a free-kick in the 83rd minute and then with the last kick of normal time, the Dutch forward finished a cleverly worked free-kick to send the game into extra-time where the two teams could not be separated. Penalties beckoned and Argentina would go onto win 4-3 following two great saves in particular from goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, to set up the semi-final against Croatia
THE BIANCONERI IN DETAIL: Angel Di Maria entered the pitch at the very end of the match in the 112th minute, with Leandro Paredes as Argentina's first substitute in the 67th minute, taking and converting their second spot kick in the shootout.
