Another thrilling day of knock-out round action at the FIFA World Cup saw Mario Mandzukic and Croatia earn a spot in the quarter-finals for the first time since 1998 defeating Denmark on PK's.
If you missed the first five minutes, you missed plenty in the evening's encounter as less than a minute into the match Mathias Jorgensen put Denmark in front spilling home an effort from close range.
It wouldn't take long for Croatia to pull level through a familiar source as Mandzukic was in the perfect place to pounce on a deflected clearance in the 4th minute for his first goal at the World Cup.
After two goals in the first five minutes, there wouldn't be another for the remainder of the match, though Luka Modric would see a 116th minute penalty kick saved by Kasper Schmeichel.
The match would be decided from the spot with Ivan Rakitic scoring the decisive PK to secure a quarter-final spot where Croatia will play hosts Russia who upset Spain on penalty kicks earlier in the day.
On Monday, two more blockbuster matches are set as Brazil, with Douglas Costa unavailable due to injury, will face Mexico at 16.00 while Belgium matches up against Japan at 20.00.
