The match started with an even opening exchange of few chances created, but it was the home side to have the first real sight at goal, when midfielder, Manuela Giugliano unleashed from distance, but Laura Giuliani brilliant reacted to the effort to push it past the post. Juve hit back and just before the half-hour mark, an excellent cross from Lisa Boattin found the head of Andrea Staskova in the box but the Czech forward put her finish narrowly wide of the post with the keeper beaten.
It didn’t get much livelier than that with both sides evenly matched going into the break. Straight into the second half and Barbara Bonansea had a go at goal with her effort sailing narrowly over the target. However, it was a sign of things to come, as Maria Alves’ deep-swinging cross from the right found Barbara Bonansea in the centre, who met the ball first-time on the volley to fire Juve in front!
Rita Guarino’s girls almost doubled their lead just after the hour mark, but Roma keeper, Rachele Bardi did well to foil Staskova’s effort. Into stoppage time, a brilliant ball in from substitute, Alice Berti found the head of Cristiana Girelli at the back post but a late brilliant block from the Roma defence saw her chance go out for a corner kick.
1-0 it finished in Rome, as Juventus Women will now officially conclude their campaign with 100% away victories, with the Bianconere only needing a win at home to Inter next Sunday to make it the perfect season!
